Q & A
• Divided sections track Sq. Ft. density
• Works with any type of additive
• $6 shipped to your door
• Two different size caps
• Very durable
• Helps apply additive at high density
This hand shaker is used for applying our Ceramic Non Skid Additive, or if you are applying our Plastic Non Skid Additive at a higher square footage ratio than what is normally required. This 7-oz crystal clear hand shaker comes with 2 caps, small and large. The large tip is best for use with our coarse plastic additive, and the small tip is best used with our Ceramic or fine plastic additive. This shaker has the quality to be used by a professional for years to come, but yet inexpensive enough to only be used one time. When applying a non skid additive by hand it is difficult keeping track of just how much product you have applied. Our hand shaker is designed to combat this problem and to help ensure you have even coverage for a floor that is safe and looks great. The side of the bottle has 3 lines representing 4 sections, to help you keep track of exactly how much additive you have sprinkled on your surface.
1 - 7-oz crystal clear bottle with lines
1 - Cap with small holes
1 - Cap with large holes
Q. Can this be used with any brand additive ?
A. Yes. Our shaker bottle can be used with any brand of additive
Q. Can’t I just use a salt shaker ?
A. No. You could use a salt shaker, but you wouldn’t be able to adequately measure how much additive you are putting down. This can easily lead to sections of the floor having to much additive, causing the area to hold dirt. Or also sections being too thin and having lack of traction.
Q. Should apply the additive using the “shaker” method or the “pour-in” method ?
A. The “pour-in” method is easier, faster, and normally works fine for most circumstances. But the “shaker” method allows you to apply the additive at extremely high density, and have a very tight pattern that is not possible when pouring it in directly.
CERAMIC: If you are applying the ceramic additive you have to use a shaker unless your pouring it in very thick paint or epoxy (this is rare).
PLASTIC: If you are applying the plastic additive the only reason to use the “shaker” method would be if you are wanting to make the additive extremely dense and have a tight pattern. You would only do this with the plastic if you are wanting to go above and beyond to have the highest level of traction possible.
How To Use
Roll out a section of paint or sealer. Walking beside it, evenly sprinkle the additive over top of the sealer. Take care to ensure the product is applied evenly and does not clump up.
Your goal is to EVENLY sprinkle the additive over the surface. The 3 lines on the side of our Hand Shaker divide the contents into 4 sections. Each section represents 2 ounces of additive, enough to cover a 80 Sq. Ft. on a flat surface, and 40 Sq. Ft. on walking ramps. Use these lines to monitor your progress and ensure that you are applying at the proper density. (Check early, check often) The most important thing is to make sure you apply the product evenly and do not let it clump up.
NOTE: DO NOT apply this product in windy conditions, this will lead to uneven spread.
